Sharing your research or scholarly project work using the AAENP network
The American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners (AAENP) encourages innovative, academic and clinical research that makes an impact on daily practice. AAENP may allow dissemination of surveys via email to the AAENP membership database for the purpose of research. A principal investigator requesting distribution of a survey will be required to submit an academic research request form to AAENP for review and consideration and approval. Additional information may be requested from the researcher during this process. The following criteria must be met:
- The research must align with the mission and vision of AAENP.
- The research must be relevant to NP practice in emergency settings.
- The researcher must ensure that all participants clearly understand.
- the commitments in the agreement to participate in the study.
- The researcher must provide proof of IRB approval prior to the research being conducted.
- This research is to further individual research/project needs not institutional, organization, or company initiatives.
A non-refundable application fee of $200 is required for non-members, $175 for members with at least 6 months of active membership, and $150 for student members with at least 6 months of active membership. Six months of active membership is calculated using the date of application submission. Any additional costs associated with conducting the research will be the responsibility of the researcher. Permission to conduct research will be approved at the discretion of the AAENP Executive Committee. Applications will be reviewed quarterly. A maximum of four research projects will be chosen per calendar year. Approved research recruitment requests and surveys will be disseminated to members in the quarterly newsletter, in one email quarterly, on one social media post across all platforms, and posted on the AAENP Website during the quarter. Coordinating and scheduling the dissemination of research recruitment and survey materials is at the discretion of the AAENP. No more than four emails in total will be sent on behalf of the researcher(s) to AAENP members on an annual basis. Upon approval of an individual request, AAENP will work with the researcher(s) to create a general timeline of expectations.
