Brittany Newberry

Dr. Brittany Newberry is an APRN in Georgia. She holds a BSN, MSN, and MPH from Emory University and a PhD from Northcentral University. She is dually board certified as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner and a Family Nurse Practitioner. Brittany is the Vice President of Education and Professional Development at HospitalMD, practices as a Nurse Practitioner in a rural Emergency Department at Piedmont Mountainside and currently chairs the Practice Committee for the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners. Previously, she held a clinical faculty position with Emory University and worked for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She has a special interest in rural emergency and trauma care and education.

In 2011, she was appointed to both the legislative/policy committee and the nurse practice committee for GNA and in 2013 she was elected as the GNA APRN Director and appointed to a position on the Georgia Nurse Leadership Coalition. She has presented emergency medicine education at major conferences such as the Emergency Nurses Association Conference and the Erlanger Trauma Symposium. She has served as a reviewer for professional journal submissions and publications and has held several nurse leadership roles including graduate council president and undergraduate counselor for Sigma Theta Tau. She has been invited as a member of the honor society for nursing, Sigma Theta Tau, the honor society for education, Kappa Delta Pi, and the honor society for academic excellence, Golden Key International Honour Society.
