POST GRADUATE EMERGENCY NURSE PRACTITIONER PROGRAM 

CLINICAL PRACTICE HOURS

Clinical practice hours are built into the ENP curriculum. Clinical practice-immersion experiences are established for each student across the two semesters and will include an urgent care and emergency department foci. Students will complete supervised clinical practice hours in a variety of established high-acuity patient care settings.

Clinical Hours Total: 270

  • Semester 1 – 90 hours
  • Semester 2 – 180 hours

Curriculum Overview

The two-semester curriculum is a flexible web-based program with one on-campus application-skills intensive each semester. The program itself consists of two, 6-unit courses (didactic and clinical), and a final case study project. Students take two courses per semester (6 units) for two semesters and complete their case study project in the second semester enabling them to complete the post graduate certificate in 2 semesters. As an ENP student you will also have extensive clinical practice immersion in the urgent care and emergency department setting. Admission Criteria:  

  • Official transcript reflecting graduate degree in nursing (MSN or DNP) from a National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited program.
    • All official transcripts from other schools attended are due upon acceptance.
    • All coursework taken from non-U.S. institutions (including Canada) must be submitted to an approved service for evaluation.
  • Verification of Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (license must be active and unencumbered in the state where practice hours will be completed).
  • Verification of an active family nurse practitioner national certification by the ANCC or AANP.
  • Completed application (this includes the scholarly essay which should reflect how obtaining the ENP certificate will contribute to your professional development through advancing practice).
  • Two reference forms (faculty and employers within past two years).
